Privacy Policy

Varick is a marketing services company, which delivers online advertising on behalf of clients, such as advertising agencies and brands themselves. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to outline (1) how we use your information to deliver targeted and other advertisements on the web and (2) the privacy practices for information we collect on this website, www.varick.co.

Varick is a member of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and adheres to the NAI Code of Conduct. To learn more about the Code of Conduct and to exercise control over how we (and other NAI members) collect certain information from you for interest-based advertising, please visit the NAI at http://www.networkadvertising.org/. You can opt out of our targeted online advertising services by following the instructions below in the section entitled “Opting Out of Advertising Targeted by Varick” or visiting http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. Varick also complies with the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising set forth by the Digital Advertising Alliance (see www.aboutads.info). If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please contact us at [email protected].

1) OUR SERVICES: Varick purchases online advertising on behalf of our clients. Varick uses a range of ad-serving and pixel-serving technologies, which come into contact with a user’s device through an Internet browser. When our technologies recognize a user’s device, we may serve an advertisement based upon that device’s past online behavior. For example, if you have visited a website that sells shoes, we may serve you advertisements for shoes. Our service recognizes the activities of the particular device’s Internet browser, not a particular user.

2) CONSUMER INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE BY VARICK THROUGH ITS SERVICES: At no point in the delivery of an ad does Varick collect personally identifiable information such as name, address, phone number, or email address. However, you may choose to voluntarily provide such information to an advertiser through their advertisement or website. When you provide information to an advertiser, Varick is not involved in such transaction and you should read the privacy policy of such advertiser to understand how your information will be used. Varick does collect certain non-personally identifiable information through the use of cookies and pixels (described further below) when you come into contact with our clients’ advertisements. This non-personally identifiable information may include web browser type (e.g., Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer), device operating system (e.g., Microsoft Windows), geographic location as inferred from IP address, search queries previously entered on third party websites, websites visited, and other information that does not specifically identify you. This information is based upon the activities of the device’s Internet browser. It is sometimes called “clickstream” data.  We may also collect unique identifiers and clickstream data from your mobile devices, such as IDFA on Apple devices and Google AdID on Android devices, and similar data from your smart / internet-connected televisions.  We use this non-personally identifiable information collected from a device to serve relevant ads to that device based upon its browsing history. We may share this non-personally identifiable information with third party companies to match it against other data sets, including advertiser customer files. Despite our best efforts, if we ever inadvertently collect personally identifiable information through our service, we will not knowingly use such personally identifiable information in connection with our advertising targeting services.

3) CONSUMER INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE BY VARICK MEDIA MANAGEMENT THROUGH THIS WEBSITE: While our services do not involve the collection of personally identifiable information, you may choose to voluntarily provide us with identifiable information at [email protected]. When you choose to provide us with personally identifiable information this way, we may use the information to contact you regarding your request and to add you to our newsletter or contact list. We may also share this information with our affiliated companies under our same corporate parent. Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy or disclosed to you at the time the information is collected, we will not share such information with any third party without your consent, except as required by law, to investigate suspected fraud or illegal activities or in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization of Varick. Our vendors and contractors may also have access to your personally identifiable information, but only for the purpose of performing services for us.

4) HOW INFORMATION IS STORED: “Cookies” are small files that may be placed on your device by a service for the purpose of facilitating and enhancing your communication and interaction with that service. We use cookies to collect non-personally identifiable information about the use of a device’s Internet browser and to store information on the device so that we may serve targeted advertisements, collect and analyze statistics about the performance of the advertisements and otherwise customize our services and website. You may configure your browser to disable the placement of cookies or to delete them from your device.

5) DATA RETENTION: We retain cookies, mobile device IDs and similar tracking identifiers for 45 days, from the last time we see that user online.

6) OPTING OUT OF ADVERTISING TARGETED BY VARICK MEDIA MANAGEMENT: Users who wish to opt out of cookie-based ad targeting by Varick can do so by visiting the opt-out section of this page. We will then store an “opt-out” cookie on your device to indicate to us that you no longer wish to see targeted advertising and we will no longer collect non-personally identifiable information from your device for such purposes. However, you may still see advertisements served by us. These advertisements will no longer be targeted based upon your online behavior. We will also continue to collect and use non-personally identifiable information for statistical and reporting purposes (but not for targeting). When you delete your cookies, change browsers or use a different cookie, our cookie (or an opt-out cookie) may no longer work and you will have to revisit the NAI website to opt out again.

You may select a system level advertising preference feature on your device and we will honor this preference to opt out your device from ad targeting by Varick on such devices.  To learn more about how to exercise these options, please visit http://www.networkadvertising.org/mobile-choice.

For opt-out preferences on your smart/internet-connected televisions, please consult the help or support documentation for such devices.

7) OPTING OUT OF OUR USE OF YOUR PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION: If you would like us to stop using your personally identifiable information collected through this website, then send us an email at [email protected], and we will process your request within a reasonable time after receipt.

8) DO NOT TRACK: Through our website and our services, we do not respond to or honor “do not track” (a/k/a DNT) signals or similar mechanisms transmitted by web browsers. To learn more about how you can exercise choices about the collection and use of certain data online for purposes of targeted advertising, please visit the Digital Advertising Alliance at http://www.aboutads.info/consumers.

9) SECURITY: We understand that security is an important aspect of any data collection practice. Therefore, we have put in place and shall maintain reasonable physical and electronic security to try to prevent unauthorized access to, or use of, your information. However, as an Internet-based business, we are unable to control every aspect of data collection or use and cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or use will never occur.

10) CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY: We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, improve, clarify, or remove portions from this Privacy Policy at any time. However, if at any time in the future we plan to use personally identifiable information in a way that materially differs from this Privacy Policy, such as sharing such information with more third parties, we will post such changes here and provide you the opportunity to opt out of such differing uses.

11) DATA STORED IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: Our servers are maintained in the United States of America. By providing us with your personally identifiable information, you freely and specifically give us your consent to export your personally identifiable information to the USA and to store and use it in the USA as specified in this Privacy Policy.

12) CONTACT US: For questions or concerns relating to privacy, we can be contacted at: [email protected]
